Default OK OK OK I will start a new thread... UPDATES!!

Kevin is doing "ok" He is having about 10 seizures a day, them being, drops, jerks, and absences.

His short term memory is going fast, (looking closely at the lamictal). We really have no other meds to try. He has done them all.

Sending you hugs Missy Hoping things start to improve.

This is so necessary.

Derrick is having a have way okay time. I'm pretty sure we are
seeing Subclinical things, but then that is okay they are
not callable hardly.

So its not as bad. He is a very hard one to explain but the acne,
gets worse when seizures are showing.

Missy & Donna hugs my friends.
Megs is doing pretty good. Her recent surgery has been a little rougher of a recovery for her. But hopefully things will start getting better for her soon. Other than that she is doing well. She got her hair trimmed and thinned again yesterday. Maaaannnn does that girly have some hair.

Hugs to you all.
Tracy

hi all.

i've been kinda out of touch for a few weeks. sorry the children's health forum has gotten slow. we put our house up for sale. plus the usual stress. but i;m BACKKKKK.

lil'monkey had a first audition for a talent show yesterday. it went well. one of the judges cell phone rang right in the middle. but when it comes to music..not even a cell phone bothers her. she did well. second round is after spring break which is next week.

oh...she had an orthodontist appointment on monday. they are waiting until next month to put the bottom braces on. she had 2 baby molars that she had just pulled, so now on to the the next stage. she already has to wear this strange face gear. they are working on bringing her top teeth and FACE forward. she has the pallette spreader in top and will probably have to have a bottom one. jaw surgery this summer.

grandmonkey has either a cold or allergies. i'm leaning towards a cold. happens every time i break down and let him play at mcdonalds. washed his hands and face real good after...but germs germs germs. oh well. he will be ok.

okie dokie...who's next?

Well, it's been a lonnng time since I last visited Children's Health months in fact!!! BTW...I love the name Children's Health, it opens it to a broader veriety of children's health, children with or without neurological issues.

Anyway, not sure who all remembers me, but for you newbies, I'm Robin, and I'm here because I have a neurological disability called Cerebral Palsy and I love to support Mom's who have kids with special needs by telling them my story and expiriences I had as I grew up with CP and what things were like when I was a child (I'm 46 yrs old)!!!

Back on November 27th of 06 I moved from a residential nursing facility where I lived for the last 25 years of my life to go live with a friend and her DH for a transitional period. Well the time has come for me to "move on". I am currently working with United Cerebral Palsy, they are helping me find a place of my very own and it could be as soon as 2 months, I am so excited and sooooo ready!!! So please send me those well wishes and Prayers that everything will work out for me!

Big everyone and love to you all,

Robin

Hi all, don't ask me where I disappeared too. I'm not sure.

I just kind of forgot to return.

I'm helping a friend and its really taking its toll. I am babysitting
for her kids on the 3rd shift so she can work. There are no
sitters around here even when you have the help of the government
to pay them.

Ugh. I sure hope it changes soon.

I'm getting so tired of this, the 1 year old doesn't seem to stay asleep.

He then wakes up and screams off and on all night.

If you need me, tell Missy to buzz me.

Hi guys.

We're doing pretty good. Andrew's seizures seem to be under control with the Depakote. YEAH!!! We've only had a few tonic since Christmas and those were when he had strep and Flu A. Neuro appt is Tuesday. No way am I changing anything.

Kindergarten roundup is coming in a week or so and then his transitional meeting is May 1. Seems like this time of year is always so stressful for us. Thank God for meds. My anxiety is here in full form.

Take care,
Laura

Been a very rough month...

Kevin is loosing cognitive skills left and right, his school work is plummeting fast.

I am feeling very discouraged and let down.

Hubby lost his job and found another one, our health insurance runs out on saturday (march 31st), COBRA (cha ching) for a month. Kevin is now on medicaid, and has coverage (phew).

Spring break for Kevin is the first week in April (starting next monday)... by Wednesday we are on the road for a 300 mile one way trip to the epi.

We will be discussing steroids, and other treatments as the med machine has now gone dry.

epilepsy really sucks bad
