Doctor don't use AZOpyridine in children. I don't think they can handle it.

I wouldn't consider it.

This is a sugar--- non metabolized by the humans and excreted in the urine that helps.
This is a UK site also.

There is a poster on PN who uses it successfully.

I don't know if it would be a possibility for a very young child, but your friend could bring it up with the doctor, etc. I don't know the doses for a young child either.

Other general things-

non perfumed & non allergenic laundry detergent
*maybe even double rinse the underwear to be sure no residue is left behind in the fabric
cotton panties if potty fully trained or if pullups/training pants are still being worn be sure they are changed regularly as soon as they get wet

Is the mom sure the daughter wipes correctly - front to back.

I can't answer that one but at 3, I can't imagine bathroom hygiene would be perfect yet, but I'll bring this up with her too.
