Confused need an advise

Hello there
i need an advise of your community as for my problem....
I have a child with ADD. He is really bright and has a lot of potential. And he has done ok in school until now. But he is going off to college next year and I am scared he won't do well on his own without me there to help keep him on task. How can I make sure he is prepared for life without me?
worried mom.

For one thing you have to trust that you have given him some things
to use as tools for keeping his add in check when he needs to organize
his life.

1. First ask him how to help him keep his classes organized.
2. Next go with him to get the things he thinks he might need
to do this.

a. When my son started college this last fall, I too worried about
this.
b. He has learning disabilities too. So one of the things we did was
contact the department that helps with this.

c. Next when he went to get his school supplies. He got the things
he needed. He then came home and I took a look at what he got. And
made some suggestions as to things he might want to consider.

3. His teachers had certain things on the list that he needed. SO he
still needed to go get these.

We also made sure that he had a set schedule in his case. He lives at
home. To get up. He at first had me doing this. But a alarm clock, was
bought so he could get himself up.

This is something he will need himself.

He will need to work on things himself.
