Here I am at age 47. I have been practicing in the mental health field for the past 5 years. Each time I got close to a trial, the other side backed off and we settled.
Well, now, they haven't backed off (although their counsel thinks they should). I wanted a continuance on the trial but I couldn't get one. It's going to be Oct. 12. Right in the middle of moving! And, I need to prepare!!!! I do have another attorney who promised to second chair my first trial. I hope he is available. I think I'm having a panic attack.

OMG! You should talk to my mom! She graduated law school when she was 40 and has been practicing for 10 years now. She has her own firm and her own office after working under people for a while.
When she had her first trial, she was VERY nervous too. Good luck! I know you will do well! |

Ooh, bad timing. But you will do a GREAT job!!
I remember my first trial- I won't tell you how many years or trials ago that was. Feeling old here.... But I still get those butterflies before each one. You have the benefit that I bet your opposing counsel doesn't have- your journey with Carly has taught you how to stay cool under pressure no matter what. That will be a huge advantage in trial. This parenting of SN kids is tough. About time it pays off in the professional world, don't you think?? Kick butt and tell us all about it!! (((hugs)))
