My son who is one is teething real hard and just over a week now has started screaming for hours and nothing calms him down at night even when he is maxed out on pain meds for his teething issue. We took him to his Dr and she found nothing wrong physical but would not tell us if it maybe night tears, I know I'm spelling it wrong but I hope you all know what I'm saying. My girlfriend and I are getting very little sleep, Saturday night my girlfriend lost it and was crying because of it while he was screaming, all I could do was hold him which did no good except for letting her to compose herself and calm down. Please, do any of you all have any suggestions or help on this issue

Are you referring to night terrors?
Here is a link to some info I found on the condition: http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/night-terrors I hope this helps. ![]()

My son had night terrors around that age. He did grow out of them but it was like he was a newborn again. I would even bring him into bed with me. Do you use the night time baby oragel on him? Also don't just give him tylenol or advil. Alternate between the 2. No oftener than 4 hrs. It will take a while for him to out grow it if it is night terrors. It might be a combination of them and hurting so much. I was calling his dr all the time about this and got the same thing over and over. He's just going through teething. I hope he feels better soon, and y'all get some sleep. Also is he getting in his eye teeth or first molars? Those are the worse for hurting. Try giving him a frozen washrag when he wakes up screaming. Just rub it on his gums. It will feel awesome to him and might calm him down.

Also please keep alternating with your girlfriend the care.
This is going to be a very trying time. Its very hard to listen to a young child cry. Keep talking to us, hopefully that will help. Donna ![]() ![]() |
