Default Zippie wheelchairs

I am finally ready to donate some of the boys's things. I have their wheelchairs, corner chairs, splints etc..... I don't know if anyone could use any of these items or if anyone has any suggestions on where I might turn to donate. The school says no, therapists say no. What do I do? Help please!!

I know that a long while ago we had a thread about donating orthotics to an organization that remakes them for use in third world countries....I don't remember the name of the organization right now, but it was something similar to the Doctors without borders kind of a set up. Maybe somebody here remembers?

Have you tried Easter Seals?

Hi, I don't know which state you live in. But I do know that all
states have agencies that loan equipment to parents. I would
check with them.

If it wasn't for how we would get them, and the fact that we
are a non-profit agency that would then use the equipment to
raise funds to help our agency help the parents we work with,
then I would say you could donate them to IN*SOURCE which
has a Silent Auction in NOvember at Bloomington Indiana. Which
you can find out more about by emailing me or going to this
site.

We are the Indiana Non-profit agency that helps families with special
needs families.

Our state used to have an interagency equipment loan program. easter seals, dmh, hmm. I remember at least three agencies were involved. They maintained a 'library' of equipment for loan. Now our Services For Independent Living has a similar program for Assistive Technology products. Perhaps contacting a caseworker for your state would yield information about similar programs available.

This is where we're sending Andrew's old chair. I've communicated with several families who have done this.
