Thumbs up Have you seen "First Do No Harm" w/ Meryl Streep? where's the tissues

I just so love you guys! I love the internet. I send piles of love and blessings to the Moms and Dads that went before us and paved the road for us.

The movie was inspired by a true story.

The mother in this movie didn't have the internet. She had to go to the Library to do her research. UGH! :eek1: (Much outdated material, too!) She didn't have buds on line to ask questions, get support, find out what other people did with meds, med reactions, mixing meds, titrating meds, changing meds, Keto diet, annoying Neuros, second opinions, new Docs, etc.

She was on her own except for the few people she stumbled upon in her skin community.

She had a son that had idiopathic uncontrolled seizures 100s a day.

She wanted to try the Keto diet and the Neuro wouldn't support it, told other staff she was on the verge of loosing it, and wouldn't let her take her child out of the hospital to see a different Doc for the Keto diet. They threatened to take her child from her if she took him out of hospital without stipulations.

BTW, WHERE was she located? Why Kansas City of course. It was probably Children's Mercy and Doc Torkelson et al.

She did end up putting her son on the keto diet for 3 years. The seizures have been gone for 30+ years and no meds.

They had various people doing cameos in the film that had been on the Keto diet or worked in the Keto Clinic at John Hopkins.

The movie made me extremely grateful for the Moms and Dads that went before us and made it possible for us to stand and refuse treatment we thought harmful to our children.

The Mom was upset that her son was on so many meds that had poor side effects requiring other meds to counteract the sides to the first, and then need more meds to counter new sides from new meds.

Don't we all KNOW that story. Just STOP all ready.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate you and the support you provide us and each other.

Blessings and Cheers

Thanks Bec. I really appreciate you and all of the other parents out there. I think I do not know how I would get along without ya'll.
