Well Im in Sacramento. A brother from my church drove us here at 10 pm Monday night. We got here about 11 pm Monday but thank you Jesus we got here. NOW I have to find a way home tomorrow (Thursday).
Turns out I am a miracle.. My brother came and checked out my van before I left Monday. He says I shouldnt be alive right now. It wasnt my transmission. It turns out the frame under the engine (the A frame I think) BROKE WHILE I was driving around town and I DIDNT crash and the engine DIDNT fall out!!! I heard a CLUNK when I hit the brakes while I was driving and thought it was something in the back of the van. Then when I went to park the van I couldnt put it in park. My brother said by the linkage locking up it prevented the steering column from falling thru. Soooo I guess that van is a goner. It JUST turned to 227,000 miles also like the day before also. So now I have at LEAST 13 appts set up for the month of Sept and MORE to make and I have NO van. I NEED to be approved for a van and NEED a van. Please pray the Lord provides something for me SOON. Thanks. GM

Well Im home. We got a ride home from my mom. It was nice being able to see my mom and visit with her. She lives a few hours away from here. I called her last night and told her what happened and she said she would see if she could give us a ride home. She had to talk to my grandma because she was suppose to be making doc appts to take my grandma to.
NOW tomorrow will be crazy. I have to see if I can fit my walker (rollater) in the boys dads old car and I have P/T at 8 am, ortho appt to get a new AFO fitting at 11:30 am and then head to Stockton for Noah's final CCS appt at 1 PM and then I have to try to find a place to get me a loan. I talked to the lady who has the van I want to buy and she still has it but only til this weekend. So I only have tomorrow to find a loan. IF its in the Lords will then it will work out. IF NOT... then it wont and the Lord will provide something else. I found out yesterday that Dr. Gorlin (the doctor who discovered our syndrome/disease and it was named after) died on Tues. He had been fighting cancer for awhile. Reading an article on him, read he was first diagnosed with cancer 8 yrs ago. He helped discover over 100 syndromes and 6 were named after him. He will be greatly missed. Well I need to get ready for bed. Maybe tomorrow if I find some time I will tell you about Noah's appts. Tho Wed. was kinda a waste.

((((((Gina)))))),
I'm sorry you're having so many transportation problems. I wrote the other day, but the dang computer crashed again and my fibro-foggy head forget to post again I thank the Lord that you and your kids were not hurt by that van. Sometimes The Universe just steps right in, doesn't it!! What I wrote the other day before the 'puter ate it was: tell every single person that you come in contact with the 'story' of the van. You might just run across someone who's having to give up driving and will be willing to give you their old van. When you allow God and The Universe to take care of you, amazing things can happen. I'm sorry to hear about Dr. Gorlin. It sounds like he was an amazing human being and a *GOOD* doctor. I pray that others pick up his work and take it to the next level. I hope you get a good night's sleep, sugar. You've had a hard, difficult week and it's not even Saturday yet. Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite. (My Dad used to say that to me every night before I fell asleep -- there's a lot of love attached to that little sentence!!) BIG HUGS (and love). Barbara |
