Unhappy Rileys cousin had his first seizure last night

Jacob (3) has complained of headaches for the last three weeks and his behavior has become awefully agressive. yesterday afternoon mom let him lay down b/c his head hurt, she couldn't wake him up, then his eyes rolled back and he was as limp as a rag doll.

This just breaks my heart into a million pieces...

Oh, man. I am so sorry.

Did he have a fever? Could it maybe be an isolated thing?

UGH. I HATE seizures!!!!!

(((Hugs))) for Jacob. It breaks my heart, too.

How did your Mom handle it? 911? Riley's diastat? Did they do an emergency CT scan and EEG? Or is that all going to be newly scheduled?

I agree with Wendy, in that I hope it's a one time thing. The headaches and behavior changes that preceeded it, give me a bad feeling...

Personally, I think your sister(?) (Jacob's parents) should mention the gluten troubles in your family and get Jacob tested for that, while all the other testing is going on.

(((Hugs))) and prayers.

Thanks guys, with out you... well...I might be nuts.

Jacob is as fine as can be today, still the agressive little dumpling; but better, as though nothing happened yesterday at all. The did do a CT and some blood work but everything came back normal... no fever.. I do so hope it was an isolated, one time thing... but my heart just knows differently.

We are waiting to get the neuro consult appointment.

Sounds like Jacob had the same thing I had last week. One minute I was fine, the next I was dizzy so I went & sat down, the next I was waking up after blacking out. Felt fine afterwards although my blood pressure was low. Went to hospital for testing and all came back normal. Have an appt with the GP on Monday to schedule an EEG to rule out anything more serious.

Hugs to you, Jacob and your mom....is Jacob the nephew that stays with you all a lot? Prayers that it is a one time thing and they can fight out what caused it.

Hugs,

Debi

Thank you all so much.. Yea, Jacob is the nephew that may as well be my son. He and his older sister spend more time with me than with their mom and dad..

Jacob calls Robert "uncle daddy" We have tried to get him to say uncle rob, or uncle robert, but uncle daddy is here to stay... he was calling him daddy for the longest time, he hears my children say daddy, so what else would he think? We have reached a comprimise and given up on the "norm" of uncle rob...

You should see the looks we get in public..

Jake is doing great.. you would never know anything happened... which is what worries me the most.... patience, I need some patience..
