Hey everyone,
How the heck is everyone? We are doing good. Donovan is here!!! He came on Aug. 2nd weighing 7.2 lbs. He didn't want to come at first, labor for hours with no cervical change, but as soon as doc broke his water he hurried. He had the cord around his neck twice, his heart rate kept dropping, and so doc used a vaccum. They had o2 on me and I would have been scared except....They don't do epidurals at this hosp. They do something called a interthecal. Well Donovan came too fast and it didn't give me any relief. I was in so much pain I really didn't know what was going on around me. When his head was coming out I tried to get up off the table, my husband and doc had to keep me from moving. Nobody told me it would BURN, LOL. He was born after a few pushes, and then I realized what was going on. Doc unwrapped the cord and he pinked right up. His apgars were 8 and 9. He had the worst conehead and big bruise on his head. He is doing wonderful. He just had a 5-6 week checkup and is weighing 9.8 lbs now. Everything seems healthy with him. I finally have a child that looks like me. lol. He has the most beautiful blue eyes. I hope they stay blue.
Christian(my oldest) just started kindergarten. He LOVES it. He has made a few friends and likes his teacher. He has learned to read over the summer, and now he needs to learn to write. He is so happy with his brother. He loves to help. He wants to kiss him all day.
Tehya is doing remarkably well, considering her seizures are getting longer, stringer and more frequent. She took her first ambulance ride this summer, on July 31st. She had a seizure that wouldn't stop with diastat. She was with her aunt at the time. It lasted about 30 minutes and she was sooo postictal that she needed to be checked out. We were already at the hosp. trying to have Donovan when we got a call, we met Tehya at the ER. Her seizures are not responding to diastat anymore, and they all last over 20 minutes. They are getting so bad that I finally agreed to try Felbatol with her. Her neuro thinks this will be her miracle drug. She has been on it about 5 weeks, but with no change in seizure activity. Everytime she has a seizure now I pray that it will stop Since her gtube placement on July 6th she has gained 9 lbs. Her deiticain says I have to cut back on calories again. She is weighing 33 lbs now. She longer takes anything by mouth, but we still try everyday. She is moving and grovin now. She rolls everywhere. She is also getting on her hands and knees and rocking. She is inchworming as well, but when she wants to go somewhere fast she rolls. She is constantly getting stuck under this or that.
I wasn't going to post here, but I miss you all so much. I hope everyone is doing well. Here are some pics

Welcome back! Sorry to hear Tehya's seizures are getting worse. She does look good in the picture, no longer a baby. Hope the Felbatol IS the miracle drug for her.
