My daughter has CMT and was hit by a car while walking to school last year. Since then she has had more CMT symptoms arrise. She suffered 2 fractures in her T11 and L5 as well as deep tissue damage and a bulging disc. Has anyone heard of trauma causing progression in neuromuscular diseases such as CMT.

I have not been over here in ages, but did a google search trying to find some info and this site came up-
My daughter Riley is 9, she has CMT, and my google was because of her CMT progression. I am not sure about trauma, was she already progressing prior to the accident? We have found that Riley has progressed and it isn't until something happens that we look back and have an "ah ha" moment. I am afraid we are in the midst of that right now. How is your daughter affected? Is her respiratory system affected at all?
