Default Doctors in New York State

First let me say "Good Afternoon" to all. As you see, I am a new member so I am still feeling my way around the site. I really appreciate all of you sharing your experiences(good and bad) because it takes away that feeling that you are fighting this alone. I am currently looking for a pain management doctor who utilizes oral ketamine and/or the pain pump in New York state. This would be the easiest route right now because insurance will cover almost anything. If I have to travel to a neighboring state, I will but I would like to start as close to home as possible. I would like to try these two treatments first before jumping into the ketamine IV infusion treatment. As always, thank you for any information you may share!!

Hi,

I'm assuming this is for a problem with RSD. Have you tried posting in the RSD forum here ? It tends to get more traffic than this one does.

Best of luck

Hi Finz....actually the problem is migraines. I have found that some of the treatments for RSD overlap with migraines so I thought I would try posting here. I am new to this whole thing and still trying to find my way around to get some of the answers and advice I am looking for. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I really do appreciate it.

Oops....I've only heard of ketamine used with RSD, but I'm not very up to date on migraine tx.

You still might want to peak at the RSD forum for the ketamine threads to see what pain clinics might offer it. Even then, I believe the references I have seen have been for IV ketamine, not po.

Any luck with googling ?

Hi again Finz......I have googled a bit but haven't really come up with anything. I am still searching through this site in hopes of getting some additional information. There was a new drug just approved (Exalgo) that I would like to discuss with the doctor on our next visit but still would like to pursue the pain pump or ketamine options also. As always, thanx for taking the time to respond.
