Hello
I have similar symptoms( pin pricks all over body, electric shock sensation, muscle pulsing), my neurologist suspects D3 deficiency, put me on D3-50000 IU once a week for 2 months, after 3 weeks symptoms are not subsiding, maybe need more time |

Hi Anna
Welcome to Neurotalk (NT). Sorry to hear you are having the symptoms of Neuropathy. You may want to browse the Peripheral Neuropathy forum - there's lots of useful info there. Has your neurologist done a Vitamin D blood test? Also did he/she test your Vitamin B12? The D3 supplement may take a while to be effective - you would have to be quite severely depleted for symptoms to show up - also depending on the severity and how long you've had the symptoms some may not be reversible. Unfortunately Neuropathy is a wide and varied medical condition. There are over 100 different types and just as many causes. Trying to establish the cause is the best way to guide you to the most effective treatment. It's a process of elimination - figure out what definitely isn't causing it and then look at the most likely remaining causes. Please let us know how you're doing and feel free to ask more questions. |
