Hi everyone. I've been back to work and not on very much, just kind of lurking.
I wanted to ask a basic question. An MRI shows that my nerve roots are all bunched together in one area of the thecal sac. The neurosurgeon said this was likely caused by an infection of sorts, he is referring me to his associate. He really didnt want to say more, I just need to do some research (I know thats not always the best thing to do, causes more anxiety), but can anyone send me in the right direction for research. Just curious if my symptoms fall in line with anything. Thanks a bunch, Michelle |

Ask for the written transcript part of the MRI.That should give you more detailed information. Then you will know exactly what to research.
You have a right to get these papers too! He should have given you more info.I mean it is YOUR body. Not like it's top secret information! Some doctors are just unreal. Good luck.

Sorry, I have no ideas on what the grouping of nerves means.
Just wondering....are you in New England ? I wore shorts yesterday and snowstorm today. Sigh. I live just south of Boston |

I know nothing about this, but know how to bring it up. Here is a site you can go to. It sounds to deep for me.
[BOOK] Clinical Neurology - Google Books Resultby Graeme J. Hankey, Joanna M. Wardlaw - 2002 ... adherence of the roots to the thecal membranes, and obliteration of the thecal sac. ... easily appreciated sign again being bunching of the nerve roots. ... books.google.com/books?isbn=1888799676... Or go to google and type in: nerve bunching of the thecal sac |
