Hi everyone, hope you're all having as good as possible day!
I have a question about some terms that my doctor used recently when filling out a form for my SSA stuff. They're all medical terms related to my physical problems, so I thought maybe It'd make sense to ask it here. I look up most of the terms and found out a good bit, but I was just looking for some input. I'm a bit fuzzy on some of them, here is what he wrote under diagnoses: Scoliosis, Disk Herniations L1-2, L2-3. (That one is the one I know the most about, and has been what I have been focusing my treatment on.) Herniated Nucleus Propulus Lumbar Spondylosis Lumbar Radiculitis Myofascial Pain --So yeah, if anyone can clarify on that fuzzier stuff I'd appreciate it! |

1. Herniated Nucleus Propulus is a fancy term for a slipped disc, and I found this really cool video that explains it for you. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/000442.htm If you can't view that one for any reason, I did a Google search and came up with lots of others. Here are my results : Slipped Disc Videos 2. Lumbar Spondylosis Spondylosis is a condition of the spine in which it is hardened and stiffened by osteoarthritis. It is also referred to as degenerative disease of the spine. The two common areas that are affected are the neck (cervical spondylosis) and the lower back (lumbar spondylosis). http://www.nevdgp.org.au/info/murtag...pondylosis.htm 3. Lumbar Radiculitis Is inflammation/irritation of a nerve in the lower (or lumbar) region of the spine and is probably the main reason for your pain. 4. Myofascial Pain Myofascial pain is pain originating in muscle or fascia. Myo is medical for muscle Fascia ("FASH-uh") is the connective tissue that surrounds every structure of the body like a shrink-wrap leotard. http://www.webmd.com/pain-management...-pain-syndrome I hope that that's what you were asking about. If not, if you'd like to repost, I'm sure some-one else will be able to help you out.
