On September 27, 2005 a long-time member of the Chronic Pain forum passed away. Her user name was LisaLJ, but we all knew her as Lisa.
Lisa was a mom to 2 beautiful girls, Ashley and Jada. Ashley was pregnant with her first child, Lisa's first grandchild, when Lisa passed away, and Jada was just a little girl when she lost her mommy. I just wanted to post about Lisa as a way to remember her. I found a dancing banana just like her icon, and I hope it works... That banana always made me smile because seeing meant that there was a post from Lisa. I know that the Chronic Pain forum went through a lot of pain and sorrow after Lisa's passing becasue of her passing and because of the events that followed. I hesitated to post this because of the hurt feelings about those events, but those events should not stop us from remembering Lisa. I will always remember Lisa as a kind a generous soul, and my heart goes out to Ashley and Jada, and to Lisa's first grandchild that she never got to meet. No matter how bad a day it was, seeing that dancing banana always made me smile. I didn't always post, but her loss to the forum, to me, was palpable. I will miss LisaLJ, and I keep her family always in my prayers. She left us too soon...

I only posted to Lisa a few times, but I always read her messages and took some the hope and encourage she gave and freely used it for myself. So hard to believe it has been a year. May her loved ones always feel the presence of her love.

I had the pleasure of talking with Lisa often. When I needed something special, I could send her a PM and not once did she break a confidence. She was that way with everyone so when she left us, she took our problems right up there with her. I cannot believe it's been a year already.
Whether you knew Lisa or not, if you read this, would you please take a minute out of your day and think about a wonderful mother and friend to all who needed one. A special person... Nancy-H |
