They want to me to go pain management b/c I will be on pain meds long term, and they can not do that. I do not understand, I do not want to be on pain meds for the rest of my life b/c im a liability with the size of my spinal cord and fluid that protects it. There is no light at the end of this tunnel. I feel like if I knew ok im having surgery and will be out of pain a month later, that would be a better answer. I may get a second opinion.
i have a question i have four herniated discs in my neck with one buldgin along with a pinched nerve .. i am in soo much pain all the time.. ikeep asking my pain specialist for something else and he wont prescribe me anything more than hydrocodone and only 30 a month. i try not to take them during the day i have small children but at night the pain is so severe i go blind in my eye and cant turn my neck. Should i really get on his case or is this normal. I dont know what to do..

This is not normal, and I don't know that pain meds would keep this from happening, but you should definitely tell him about it, and the effect it's having on your day to day life.

Does that mean he is not going to refil my next script? and is he allowed to do that with all the bad side effects that can happen by stopping abruptly. thanks
I think they can do that? I would get into the pain clinic asap. They should be able to offer alot more help you with your pain. I had a triple fusion on my low back 2 years ago and not getting much relief from norco, taking five a day and my dr. does not like that to much and he is sending me to the pain clinic. good luck.
