Default Can anyone relate to electric-shock pains?

I'm 25, active, but not overly active. I like keeping in shape and going to the gym. I woke up one morning in August to what felt like I was being tazed in my left inner calf! It was excruciating! It was local, like I could point out where it was and it didn't travel up or down my leg. Sometimes it pulsated, sometimes it just came and went in a flash. It was so strong it effected walking, standing, I was terrified to drive, etc. Obviously it scared me because I felt it was a nerve problem rather than the dull or tightening ache of a muscle. I would naturally retract my leg and cry out when it happened. I never knew anyone could feel such a pain. I hadn't done anything active at all that week or week prior to do an upset stomach so I know it wasn't injury related. I had a lumbar MRI last week which I assume is normal because they said they would've called by now if it wasn't and I don't see my neuro again for 2 weeks for him to go over the scan.

I only felt it that one day that severely. It lasted all day but the zaps got further apart. I was able to get in with my internist that day and he said it was a mineral deficiency and to drink gatorade all well. Well, that didn't help. Ever since that day I've felt lighter versions of it daily...they're still painful, but not enough to stop me in my tracks or cry out loud (though I do internally). It effects me everyday and sometimes I feel it now in my right leg too and in the back of my calf. Sciatica I heard radiates down the leg, so I know it's not that. And lhermittes sign apparently runs down the body with the chin to chest movement which is not something I experience. I haven't felt myself or been active at all since it first happened in August.

Has anyone felt anything like this? If so what did you do about it? I had an MS scare last year when I woke one morning with numbness, but my MRIs were clear. I live in constant fear that this pain will come back at any moment. I think my anxiety has kicked in too because I've been getting muscle twitching and other abnormal sensations since then too.
