Hi, razzle51:
I also take Keppra (two 500 mg tablets twice daily), but I take it for epilepsy. It does not really do anything for my severe chronic full body RSD pain, which is better controlled by Duragesic, MSIR, and Tambocor. |

Hi, dabbo:
Quote: "Neurontin didn't do anything to me except make me feel out of it. Keppra helps the neuropathy, not in a HUGE way though. If I forget to take it, however, I KNOW that I didn't take it." If you had not mentioned this, I think I would have asked my neurologist to switch me to Neurontin because I thought Neurontin was better than Keppra at controlling neuropathic pain. BTW, are you a member of Phi Theta Kappa? I thought you could be because of the saying you put at the end of your message. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa in two different colleges. |

I found Sue's post on Keppra there. I only accept Keppra brand name from the pharmacist. On generic Keppra, not only did my seizures increased, but also my pain. My neurologist told me that someone who started on brand name Keppra should continue taking brand name Keppra instead of switching to generic Keppra. He said it is okay for a person who always took generic Keppra to continue taking generic Keppra. My dosage of Keppra was increased from two tablets twice daily to three tablets twice daily. With all the medications I am taking, I really have the feeling of being a walking pharmacy. Last edited by kittycapucine1974; 09-30-2011 at 03:06 PM. Reason: Add info. |

Hi, razzle51:
I take brand name Keppra without any problems. I take three 500 mg tablets (=1,500 mg) twice daily. The night time dose is taken with a 2 mg Klonopin tablet, without any problems either. I still have some seizures, but no medications in the world is 100% effective, whatever the disease treated is. |
