Default Pain in left leg during and after driving

Hi,

I drive a Hyundai Santro car and having acute pain since last week.
MY left thigh (at the back side) hurts a lot when i drive or bent even for a second.
This happened to me few months back too but went away by itself after putting pain balm for few days.
I have long legs but I keep the driver seat stretched at the farthest to give my legs as much space as possible.
I usually drive in busy traffic for most of the time during my journey from office to home everyday for which I need to keep the clutch pressed most of the time. At this time I feel unbearable pain.

Please let me know what could be the problem and what kind of specialist I should see.

I don't have no how much activity this room gets but I would suggestt seeing your primary care provider and he will direct you to a special doctor.

Welcome bhunnu16.

Could it be sciatica? You probably should see a doctor if you haven't already.

There was a point in my life where that clutch had to go....it is automatics for me now forever.

You could try an ice pack on your lower left lumbar after driving and see if that takes down some of the strain.

There is also a nice lotion, with magnesium in it which rubbed into your lower back and back of the thigh may help.
Morton Epsom Lotion:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...Epsom%20lotion

Apply at night before bed each day and you may happily find some relief. Many of us here use this with success.
Available at some local WalMarts and Walgreen's, but not at many other outlets yet.
Use sparingly, as it works very well and huge amounts are not necessary. A quarter's dollop on your back and the thigh is enough.

This easy and inexpensive and works!

bhunnu16,
I sometimes get sciatica when I'm a passenger in the car or driving in the car.

I have problems with a number of lumbar discs (L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1) and some other problems with my lower spine including a spondylolisthesis.

To stop myself getting the leg pains, I use a lumbar support and also make sure that the seat is raised behind my knees. Some cars can't be adjusted, but if that happens, I put a small support under the area upwards of the knees, so that my knees are bent more.

Automatics are much easier for me to drive too, however, it's the angle of the seat that gives me most grief.

If your pain persists, please see your doctor as sciatica is a sign that all is not well with your spine.
