Default Hydrocodone Schedule II substance

For those of you who take anything that has hydrocodone in it, as of October 6, 2014 it will be reclassified from a Schedule III substance to Schedule II. In other words, no more refills. Just like percocet, you will have to pick up a written prescription from your doctor and hand deliver to your pharmacy. Doctors cannot fax or call in anything which contains Hydrocodone.

What next? (Sorry for a repeat if this has already been posted.)

Angry Next Stop Russia!

What's next indeed, the FDA'S current war on Opioids feels almost like a personal persecution at times. I live with full body CRPS, and the only way I do that is with Morphine & Hydrocodone. The humongous not funny joke? After I take my meds it takes up to an hour and a half before I get any kind of relief. Relief means the pain and burn come down from wayyy over 10 to 9, 8.5 if I'm lucky. In addition making severe chronic pain patients who at times have to force themselves to get out of the house, have mandatory monthly appointments is cruel. Double addition, Disability income is not huge (especially while Insurance Co. drags out WC case) so thanks FDA for not just requiring an extra trip but also for that extra co-payment that I can't afford.

BTW Let's not forget the Silence of the AMA, Unscrupulous Drs. that caused most of the problem by writing scripts at the drop of a hat so they could add patients. Other "Celebrity" Drs. like Michael Jacksons who will write anything a "Star" asks for. No the FDA has been silent as the grave, since it's money in the pockets of most of it's members and they don't want the FDA to start cracking down on Them!

Lost in all of this are we the patients, Message to FDA try the Hypocratic Oath.. and first DO NO HARM!

Default Good mornng Doody :)

My PCP gives me a script for hydro and 2 refills which lasts 3 months. I was at his office last week and the nurse told me that they will just write post dated prescriptions that will last the 3 months so I don't have to come in every month. Co-pay saved.

So there is a 'work around' so to speak if one has a dr that understands and is willing to do this.
