Default So I applied for a job

Back in early November and it being by then well over 2 years since I worked, the money tree was/is bare and in a moment of insanity I updated my cv online, saw a job and thought I can do that. I applied and heard nothing back other than the standard reply and I forgot about it. December 1st week rolled round and I got a call out of the blue for a telephone interview, then a face to face, then more, then ref checks and then a pre employment medical and on xmas eve they called and offered the job.
I'm well and truly stunned, the medical was with my own GP who knows me well, we detailed all my injury and restrictions and what I would need in a work environment to get by, so no one more shocked than me that they called and offered.
Long story short, I start work again after two and a half years off on January 5. Part Time, 3 days a week. Feeling very very nervous friends, very nervous.

Thumbs up

I read your post here PamelaJune and just want to say that is wonderful news and that I hope it all goes very well for you. It will, I imagine, be difficult to begin with but then I'm sure you'll settle into the routine and find it very rewarding. Wishing you the best!

Way to go PJ,
It is like your first day of school, nervous but you are back into the swing of things in no time at all. Praying for complete healing and no complications.

You will have to let us know how things go.
God Bless You and keep you

Wow.....congratulations Pam. That is wonderful news.
I'd be nervous too but After a couple days, the nervousness will be gone and you will be fine.
3 part time days sounds absolutely perfect.
What will you be doing?

I wish you much success and you are an inspiration to me and I am sure many others.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
All the best, D.

Injury management consultant. I'm excited, nervous, terrified and shocked - oh and pleased! My first week will be 3 days straight, then I have to fly to head office for a 5 day induction and then back home and will work Mon, Weds and Fridays. If I can get thru the first two weeks I should be ok, I'm going to have to be, desperately need the $$$ I'm sure you all know what I mean. Thanks all for the congrats

Oh my gosh that is some great news ! And doing Mon, Weds and Fri's sounds like the perfect part time job. You are an inspiration as said above and maybe one day I can work part time again. I miss being around people and that feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes with doing a good job.

Wishing you all the best and hoping you get through those 2 weeks without too many issues.
