I am having side effects from this and wanted to know if anyone else? I called my Neuro and He's taking me off of it. I am new to this and was wondering what others are taking to help with the god awful pain. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what this drug is but if for neuropathy, I take Lyrica and various opiates(Hyrdocodone and oxycodone)... also lidocaine patches and periodic lidocaine injections into worst area. Also muscle relaxers as needed and lorazepam to take the edge off and help me sleep. My docs believe clonidine that which is generally for high BP helps so they keep me on that for my high BP but it also helps take the edge off the pain. Hope this helps. Diandra |

Hi Lisa,
Thanks to Diandra, I don't know how I missed this Post. I take Topiramate, another anti-convulsant, for chronic Cluster Headaches and it does have the beneficial side effect of helping with my Neuropathic Facial Pain, TN and a little of the Hypersensitivity. I know this works due to increased effect from 33% increased dose this February. This is only a small part of my extreme chronic pain management with: Lidocaine Infusions. Ketamine Oral. Morphine. Tramadol. Arcoxia. Hope this, though late, is of some help. Dave.

Lamotrigine is an interesting med.
It seems like people either do well, with few side-effects -- or they have a skin rash reaction and must stop immediately due to threat of Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS), which can quickly become very serious. Am glad your doctor is aware and stopping the med. DejaVu |
