Default The agony of pain

Hi Dave
An others here

Said to say my pain level today 7
and climbing
And like yourself there are several
independent physical pains
My vertebrae so for life
From the scar that starts
just an inch from the base of my skull
to the top of my shoulder
You can physically feel how my vertebrae
has been moved in a not so straight manner
Hence many times I must minupate how water
travels down
Yes there is trouble with a simple swallow
ALL AFTER SECOND SURGERY
My incontenence embarrassing
Haven't had any accidents while out
I make sure mu bladder is empty
I'm embarrassed to say it happens
When I stir to wake to go to the bathroom
my muscles CANNOT keep from some
beginning to release urine
that to right after second surgery
And we also share the most painful
as a double edge sword
cannot be hugged or touched
as it hurts
One would attempt to stroke my back
when getting a gentle hug
or should I heaven forbid Corissa
ask her to gently try and work out knots
Is A Joke
When it is time to retire as I am now
rarely able to do much but take my Meds
with hot coffee try and stretch while in bed
as it feels so great
But here we go
I am not able to do no more
until my afternoon Meds
this is very frightening
independent from my cervical pain
and troubles all a new with my bloody
hematoma
to have documentation that nerves were
accidently cut my nerve
no mention of that to me
when surgery over
Nevertheless
I'm here today to say
Things physically are progressively getting worse
My lower back is out of control
I call it my sweet spot
and at times the area is so angry
it is warm to the touch

Using IPod
Difficult it is falls out of my
hands often
my neuropathy has claimed
the use of my hands and feet
without excruciating pain
pain invisible to the eye
Oh that bloody word pain
Permenent
Absolute
Invisible
Nagging
and we must live with the ones
no one can fix or take away
I mentioned typing with my pencil
on my left side as is the laptop on my bed
This outrageous pain indescribable at times like today
my feet to knees throbbing with a heart beat of their own
I will be in bed today as the pain is toooo great
and I am just tired today
I'm stopping now
So much I want to say
But not now
To tired
Take care
Love
Me

Oh, so sorry, Dave.... this new situation sounds really painful.

Last week I was searching for someone else and found this link to be very helpful for me.

http://breakingmuscle.com/mobility-r...r-injured-neck

The 3rd one especially is nice.

You can make your own epsom salt poultice with a soft towel soaked in a concentrated epsom salt warm water pan. You will need a piece of plastic wrap to protect your bed. But you can lie on this for a half an hour or so as often as you need. I once made epsom salt poultice like this upNorth for my knee. (we don't have a bathtub up there).

3 or 4 ounces to a quart of warm water and then soak up the small towel or cotton cloth with it. It is close to what the epsom lotion does. The magnesium will soak thru your neck and block the pain receptors for a while. It does wear off and need to be repeated the next day.

Unfortunately; we face wayyyyy too many issues all going on simultaneously. Really makes getting up in the morning a bit scary never knowing what to expect; except one thing for sure; there will be pain.

I end my evening prayers with asking that I not be afraid to face tomorrow. More often than not; it appears to help me push myself to at least accomplish the little things that need doing.

Knowing we are there for one another really helps us not feel so alone.

MrsD,

Thank you so much for that link. I like the acupressure one, too, I had good results with acupuncture on my neck in '13 and it is something I do not have to rely on others for help with. I will start tonight when I finish here.

I had a thorough exam at my GPs today, one which brought tears to my eyes. Conclusion is the Compression at C6 is bad and is causing most of the pain and numbness in my right arm and hand. Turns out my whole forearm is numb, upper arm is excruciating - I could cope with just numbness.

PT is out because of my Hypersensitivity, it would hurt too much to go through it with someone else touching me. My Morphine dose has been increased and, if I cannot get it under control myself in a week, I have to see PM Dr about changing up Tramadol to something stronger. More meds - sigh!

Dave.

Hi Gerry,

These things are sent to try us, I just wish it wasn't sent so often.

My evening Meditations have been put on hold due to the pains making it too hard to clear my mind. Perhaps combined with the acupressure…

Having to curtail my time and responses here are not helping my coping mechanism.

Dave.

Dear Eva,

So much going on, so many issues we share.

Keep on top of your pain today, stay resting in bed waiting for the meds to kick in.

Think only positive thoughts.

Dave.

Dave,
You mentioned the compression at C6 and the pain and numbness in your right arm. These symptoms were among many Mark56 was experiencing a couple of years ago. It had really gotten very bad for him which eventually lead to surgery. I am sure he can relate to the excruciating pain you are experiencing.

I understand your reluctance to up your pain meds to something stronger. I had issues with Morphine some years ago (hallucinations along with hardly touching the pain). Fortunately the Oxycontin with Percocet for break thru has really helped me deal with the pain. I hope whatever may be prescribed, it will bring additional relief.

Just knowing you are checking in is comforting. Looking forward to you soon being able to enjoy more participation.
