I used to live in gratitude
Until that fateful day When an accident some years ago Took most of my quality of life away I used to have a thirst for life And a fulfilling purpose every day I embraced and learned from both good and bad With whatever was tossed my way I used to have an active life Both professional and social in many a way But now I yearn and wait to die Since that fateful day I feel my life has no purpose Nor a quality of life Because since that fateful day Chronic pain has shrouded my " life" No one can fully understand Unless they have walked in my shoes So I try to battle my daily chronic pain That has given me anxiety and the blues What will finally help my pain Get to a manageable and tolerable state So I can try to pick up some of the pieces of my shattered life Since that fateful date....... |
