Default No releif from tiredness .

Hi I'm 49 in the uk, I'm do struggling with fatigue I'm hardly making it of the bed at moment, I've dropped my pain meds down since October , I was taking 400 mg of morphine ,3600 of gabapentin and 60 mg , I've managed to get this down to 120 mg morphine 1800 of gabapentin and 30 mg of duloxatine , I was struggling with fatigue and crashing out before I tapered but know I'm a whole lot worse what is going on, all my bloods are fine , I just can't deal with laying on my bed hoping to feel better, I, pretty desperate now I can't go on like this.

There are so many issues overlooked and one is thyroid...so many are not treated, dismissed as OK, etc...I struggled with that one for 10 long years back in 1999, I was about 53 at the start of the sluggish thyroid.

There are many alternative remedies that help fatigue. Vit D, Potassium, DRibose, Grape Seed Ex helps with energy....can you find a functional/integrative MD?

The strong meds can cause many issues including fatigue.

Dear Baddog,

I am right there with you on the fatigue issue. I, too, suffer from SEVERE fatigue. It is such a vague symptom and is involved in so MANY different conditions, it is very hard to pinpoint the culprit and some times it comes not from one source but many sources combined.

I wake after a full and good night's sleep feeling as if I had not slept at all, I am so tired. Not sleepy, TIRED, as if I had done a full day's work before I even emerge from the bed. And then later, I get hit with sleepiness on top of the fatigue.

How much or little sleep I get seems to have very little to do with the fatigue. Some days I can't stay up for more than a few hours at a time and other days, I can stay up, I just can't seem to function.

There is no easy answer. Docs, no matter how much they search for an answer to YOUR fatigue, may not be able to pinpoint the problem. Been there myself on that.

It can be a combination of medications and medical conditions or something that has not even been diagnosed.

I just got diagnosed with yet another condition and in researching it, .... one symptom listed was SEVERE fatigue. Is "THAT" the answer to my fatigue question? Who knows.

Maybe if the newest condition presents as treatable and my fatigue disappears, only then will I know that may have been the culprit. But, for now, I still fight the battle of fatigue and wonder why I have it and how to rid myself of it.

Wishing you the best. Good luck in your quest to find an answer and return to function.

Oh, one last thing I would like to mention. Fatigue and depression go hand in hand sometimes. They seem to feed off of each other so try to stay as positive as possible. That may not have any effect on the fatigue but it sure helps to ward off the depression that may accompany the fatigue.

Hi hopeless, sorry for a late reply, I've been out of it for 2 days and came round at about 2 pm!! First thing are you in UK or US? Are you on any meds? I'm on morphine sulfate , gabapentin and now escitralopran , this could be part of the problem but I have been on much higher doses and less fatigue!!! I've also been so much more fatigued since my last operation on my elbow(5 to date) I have a fair degree of constant pain nerve pain but I'd say it's more of a very very sore than a screaming agony thing, have you been down the cfs route and what was the outcome?? That's my next port of call, my gp has put me through as an urgent type thing , depression? Yes I'm depressed for sure but I've never been one to spend any longer in bed than necessary , I was on holiday in November and I was still fatigued so much that I'd drive out and just have to turn round and head back to my chalet , covered in sweat as well, I've literaly just got to bed now after jumping in the car for a 2 and half hour each way drive to try and salvage something from the last few days. I was so distressed imwas almost in tears. 😭 sorry if this post is s a bit of a rant it's how I feel about this. Hopefully speak soon. Del.
