Taking one 30-mg slow release iron tablet (Slo-FE or equivalent) twice a week will definitely halt your diarrhea. Ask me how I know

You have got me curious how the iron works? If I don't drink any coffee or decaf I'm OK go figure! I just don't want to start opioids again cause of the diarrhea! I'll wait for your reply ShaggyChic_1201 thanks again! Jacquie

I'm not suggesting you start opioids if you don't need them for pain and I'm not a doctor, but this is my experience.

I don't have diarrhea, but I do "go" a lot, 5-8 times a day. The past few times I went to donate blood, I was turned away b/c my hemaglobin levels were low. When I added an iron tablet, my system slowed down quite a lot (just 2-3!). I imagine if you weren't in your/my situation, it would be pretty badly constipating. For me, it gave me more freedom to step away from a bathroom.

FWIW, I see a gastro doc in a few weeks. I think my digestive issues are related to all the medications I take, but maybe it's not. :p
