Sydney,
I take the prednisone for UCTD (undifferentiated connective tissue disease) which is an autoimmune illness. I also have fibromyalgia, and the prednisone does seem to help some of the fibro symptoms (but it's hard to tell which symptoms are fibro and which are UCTD). Nancy, You are right, that lifestyle changes are just as important as pain meds when it comes to having lower pain. I try so hard to listen to my body and rest when I need to, it's not always easy and it often means missing out on things I want/need to do, but I would rather miss out on a few things than do those things and be in horrible pain. So far, the changes to doctor made are helping, but only slightly. The Percocet really isn't helping at all anymore, so I really do want to try something else, even if it is just temporary to give my body a rest from the percocet to try to combat the tolerance issues.... In the past, we have changed the oxycontin to something else temporarily for that reason - to combat tolerance - and everytime we have done that, the oxycontin is much more effective when I go back to taking it. So I think we need to do the same thing with the percocet, switch to something else for 2-4 months. So, I have lots to talk about with my doc when I see her alter this week. Thank you everyone for your suggestions and support Liz

Hi everyone, this is my first post, so please be gentle...
My husband has found his dilalaudid RX works better than the other breakthrough meds he's tried thus far (including percoset and oxy's).* His main diagnoses are Reiter's and CPP (with the usual tag-along syndromes lining up behind).* ENK - I am so sorry to hear of your divorce and loss of insurance. We just finally got insurance for my husband, but we've been racking up debt to pay his medical expenses for quite some time.* I know firsthand through my struggles with my husband's condition that now more than ever you need help and compassion.* I hope you can take some comfort in knowing you have the support of your extended online family here anytime you need us.** |
