Yes Wendy, I have missed you too. I am working fairly hard and it is about to kill me, trying to move after forty-some years. I am about done. I just have a large house to clean up. At the present time I have the expenses of both homes to keep up.I never thought I could do that.
You'll be ok, just tell the doc you can't walk very far. If he already knows, so much the better. Let us know what he says.

Default Wendy - where have you been!

Hi Wendy;

I have missed you too! Where have you been. Billie and I and some others are still on the Weight forum and we would really, really, really love it if you joined us.

From your comments here, it sounds like you are much like me: try one new thing to move forward but end up take two steps back. It's frustrating.

Anyway, about your placard request, I think your doc will sign it, no questions asked. Good Luck.

Hope to see you in the other threads.

Hi Nancy!
Well today is the day I ask the doc. Well, in about 8 hours anyway! We will see what he says. I will keep you all posted.

Default Good news!

Well you were all right! My GP doc had no problem at all filling out the doctor part of the paperwork! I brought it right down to the Registry when I found out I could have mailed it right to the main state Registry in Boston! Duh! Would have saved me a trip.
His only problem was which problem to put as the major health problem. He put severe sciatica and severe fibromyalgia!
My doctor is awsome!!!! And I told him so too!
Put him on the list of a pro chronic pain docs!

Thanks. I am very lucky to have an understanding GP. I know others aren't quite as lucky and that makes me sad.
The down side of all this is that it will take about a month to get the placard.
Thanks everyone for your support on this.

Hey Wends~
When my GP signed mine I took it to the local DMV and was given a temporary one till the real one came. Can you get a temporary one too?
Hugs,
Jan

Jan unfortunately in the lovely state of Massachusetts, they don't do it that way. The local Registry doesn't process the application, the state office does. So the bureaucratic red tape has to slow down the process for about a month. Until then, I have to just deal.
The price you pay for living in a state of red tape like Massachusetts.

Same in my state - you have to wait about 4 weeks.
