Confused Need advice

Okay, I was seeing a ps for over a yr. The doc I started with was very nice, but she left for a better job and I am stuck with another, in the end things got really confusing he kept messing with my dosages and when I got home one day I called only to ask (hadn't taken my prescription to be filled yet)about the new dosage again (I also have Primary Progressive MS) I am not sure how it happened but instead helping or answering my question I was told they would call back. The next day I get a letter saying they will no longer be helpig me because I was over taking my meds...How the heck did they come up with that when I only asked about the dosage!
I still had a half bottle of the medicine he gave me! I will never know!

I am seeing someone else and was wondering if I should bring in the records from my former doctor to give her a better idea of my treatments.

I am so desperate for help, and the hydrocodone 10/325mg isn't working as it used to..I have been on it close to 2 yrs now, my guess is I have built up a tolerance.

I manage through the mild pain, but many days it hurts to move!
This winter is going to be a doozy!

Thanks in advance

Oops I am so sorry to hear that you ahve been treated badly. WOuld a letter explaining things to them help?

Its a catch 22 on bringing your records. SOme docs can interpret that in a negative way and feel like they are being told what to do or that it makes you looked obsessed while others appreciate when you advocate for yourself.

Maybe you want to have them tucked away in your back pocket and judge how the meeting is going and bring them out or take the approach of being open minded and seeing what the new doc has to say without leading them with preset opinions.

I would make a list of five things you want to talk to them about to focus the conversation. I have found that more than five and I lose the doc's focus.

And at the end I would ask would you find it helpful if I had my records forwarded to you.

I dont know much about hyrocodone but you might want to post in medications forum and Mrsd will come by and help with her opinions. She's super smart

Good luck

Going to take the copy of my records with me, and like you said wait and see.

I go in the morning so I will leave myself a sticky note (like I have hundreds of those flapping around lol) to remind me to let you know how it goes!

Think I will take my 17 yr old with me, he is doing excellent in school and all his teachers know me and that I have PPMS, they have no probs letting Kyle take me to my appt. once a month. One of his teachers told him he was taking the day off to surf lol. Crazy teacher but all the kids and parents like him a lot.

Going to try to get some sleep now, had to go for a 4 hr ride to my first appt with my new Neuro. Now that went great, just hoping this next appt is as good. Its another 3 hr drive and suppose to be nasty weather UGH!

Talk tomorrow.
SInce it's 3am I will get back to you this afternoon!
