My "Rear Admiral" will not give a colonoscopy without sedation as he feels it is dangerous to do so. He said it is unfair, at best, to expect a patient to remain perfectly still under those circumstances and that increases the risk for a perforation.

Pain help

Jane - you are right - that ONLY makes sense. But I think doctors are smart and have NO COMMON SENSE. That's why we are lucky to have nurses, they are both brain smart and street smart. I mean, I told the nurses I was worried, they put a note right on the chart listing the pain meds I was on.

Thanks to everyone who felt my pain! Now we are all
butt buddies  In this day and age, there is no excuse for anyone to go through the process without appropriate anaesthesia. The whole push to get people in for cancer screenings goes to waste when someone has a bad experience. And everyone over 50 should be screened. I am lucky to be cancer free. I can handle diverticulitis.

My best to all,
Nancy-H

I understand Nancy!

I have waked in your shoes and after I said to the Dr I just can't stand the pain he said, "Do you want to go to the twlite (sp) zone ", I said yes. That was the end of my pain. I would suggest if you hear of some Dr that will put you to sleep, go there.

Nancy I am doubled up in pain today after a good day yesterday. It wouldn't do any good to call the Dr, so now what do I do? I am so allergic to pain meds about all I can take is Vicodin. i have all stengths here at home. I am suffering with severe leg pain. My surgeon says he now thinks it is a hernia. I have an appointment wih another surgeon Monday. I am just sitting here now with cold chills going down my back. I may try ice, nothing else has worked today.

I don't dare use a heating pad after this burn that hasn't went away yet. Has anyone else had a hernia with a lot of pain & what did you do about it?
blessings,
Billie:confused:
