Colloid cyst surgury plus stroke
I am a first time member. I joined because my sister on july 19, 2010 had a colloid cyst removed from the 3 ventricle left side and soon after had a bleeding stroke on the right side. I am asking if anyone had this same situation and how did there recovery go. My sister is right now in a psycritatic ward because she is unable to cooperate with theraphy. She was being treated for bi polar before the surgury so she is on some heavy duty drugs. She has very little short term memory. I am not sure what time frame she is in. She woke up 25 years ago in the past. Although when we are with her she is very aware who we are. Very grateful for that. But real to her is people who were alive 25 years ago and having conversations with them. She also would be in different places of that time period. Very real to her. She can walk with assistance but unable to use her left hand and arm. It seems so many mistakes were made with her because of the meds she took before surgery. She will return to a nursing home when she leaves the ward. Counting me there is 2 sisters and 2 brothers and 2 sons who love her deeply and are looking for answers. So much has happened in the 3+ months that is don't know how to write about. She is 63 yrs old.
So this is a start. I hope i hear from someone. The surgeon talked like she would be home in a week or 2 and continuing with her life. She does not want to eat. Has no appetite or any desire for foods she use to like. Thank you for any imput.
