Default Colloid Cyst - What to do

Hello,

I have been having dizzy spells for a little over a year now. Along with this I have chronic headaches. The dizzy spells began as 1 or 2 a week. Now, I have as many as 4-5 per day. My headache comes and goes but is also daily. 2 Weeks ago I was sitting on my living room couch and just passed out. My Dr. ordered a CT scan. This scan showed a 1 cm colloid cyst. Ordered a follow up MRI and a consult with a neurosurgeon. I had the MRI and consult was yesterday. The neurosurgeon said that he doesn't see any hydrocephalus on the scans. He did confirm the diagnosis of a colloid cyst. He said that we should just monitor the cyst and scheduled me for another MRI and follow up appointment in 2 months. I am an otherwise healthy 39 year old man. To be dealing with these issues is difficult. Neuro said that surgery is risky and he does not know that my symptoms are created by the cyst since there is no evidence of hydrocephalus. He said they very well could be from the cyst, however, there are millions of things that could cause those symptoms. My thought is while there are millions of things, they have found one that I have that can cause these symptoms. I know there are risks with surgery. I am not saying I want that either. I was wondering has anyone had a colloid cyst removed without signs of hydrocephalus? Were you experiencing any physical symptoms? Is 1 cm big or small for these cysts? (there is not much about the size in all the research I have done). Any insight you can give me would be helpful. My friends and family want me to get a second opinion with another neurosurgeon. I don't want to go through the hassle if this is the normal course of treatment. Just not sure what to do.
