Thanks for the post. I hadn't seen that, and any word is good. I'm still practicing patience and peace .

Thank you for the update Unknown.

Linda

Edited: (Not directed at Unknown's post) It takes so little to start it all up again. It's been hashed to death, can it not be put to rest. Argh....

09.15.06 In case there are some that can see this message, John Lester now has the disks to reintall the OS & recover the database from backups. Thanks for your patience, David

The fact that the message is there says to me it could have been changed and further information given out all along by this 3 dimensional person.

The fact that it wasn't says to me that he doesn't take US as anythilng but an ego trip for him.

Braintalk has been absolutely cruel and inhuman in it's treatment of it's members and to even suggest that an apology will suffice is rude and ridiculous.

To err is human...............to forgive is divine..............but thils message to me says nothing because the mod said the tapes had arrived on the 5th as stated by John and it is now the 18th.

David is still there playing with the minds of those who are ill and sick.

I fully realize just how much he has had to bear with his lifelong ailment and I make allowances for the medications and that but many on here do as well and they do not revel in treating other human beings so callously bordering on personal cruelty.

So "doc" lets get this ball rolling here and get to the business of showing the world that indeed as one human being falls or fails in their promises there will always be another to pick up the gauntlet.

I Braintalk1 coming back again................really.........well I no longer care

With respect Thelma

Default Not news...

He was suppose to have gotten the disks on 9/5 which is about 2 weeks ago. At this rate, he may have BT1 up by the new year.

Sorry, I do not buy the whole thing anymore. Yes, I am a bit jaded.

I think that someone is just updating OBT as they see the constant complaints about the outage here.

I have a few questions.

Why couldn't he have moved a forum up on another one of his servers?

Why are other sites he runs up and running? He could have moved server space and just hosted a temporary server. It is not THAT hard to do.

That is my biggest beef with OBT. There is a lack of transparency and the place is run with an iron fist with no wiggle room for compromise. I do not like that. And after I got booted from chat for even daring to mention this place, I have had enough and do not even want to donate money to them ever again because I do not like how it is ran at all.

Now to be completely hyprocritical, if it ever gets revived I probably will still post there because I have friends who are still there who do not know about this place yet. I will spend more time here than there because I like this place a lot more and am pretty much sold on getting this place set up and really going. It is time for a change.

By the way, that message was not posted last night. That was new. I still think they are checking the messages here to see what people are saying about all of this.

Default Plus...

When JL asked for donations for the last crash 4/05 he said that getting the better hardware and stuff would prevent having another disasterous crash. Well 14 months later (BT1 crashed in July) we have an unrecoverable crash with both hardware and software problems. The explanations do not make sense. For someone who is supposedily technical savy, BT1 seems to not matter anymore.

Let's just be honest, he could have easily rented out a server away from him and hosted it for a month or two offsite. There are many options out there for getting things back up and running. He has lost a bit of trust in my book.
