This doctor contacted me via PM in the Fall of 2005 for a story. I did not oblige as I thought this was against the rules of BT (OBT). I think she should come over on "our side". See what Doc John has to say.

I believe DocJohn had an announcement up about this a couple of weeks ago and some people did already participate.

I think it was the same doctor, but admin will be able to give more details.

Yes, it's the same doctor that was here in an announcement. I participated.

She was very professional, then sent me a few questions that were asked in a manner that I could respond with as much or as little as I wanted.

and, in fact, when the announcement went up on Braintalk a while back, I contacted her and suggested she investigate some other forums, including this one.

I gave her some background on the development of a number of Internet health communities, provided some links, discussed how some doctors and other medical professionals embrace them and others . . .don't.

She has been very professional, and I'm very curious to see how her article will shape up (and what kind of spin might be put on it by the magazine).

I just wanted to follow up with this. I was again contacted and, again, she was very professional and totally professional in response and understanding of my words. I'm sure, should she use them, she'll do so appropriately.

It's been a very nice experience. I'm glad for the opportunity to be heard about how online support has helped me so much. I hope many can find their way to us.
