Default Not place to ask, but were would you look for information on balance disorders

Okay, I know I'm asking in the wrong place. But this is more where
people that know this kind of thing are at. I'm looking for people that
know about the balance, and inner ear disorders. I'm not exactly
sure what all they are called.

But I need some information, and people that deal daily with them.

Vertigo and things like this too. Anyone have a idea where I might
try.

I have them myself, I'll compile information for you. PM or email me if you'd like in the meantime.

Thank you I'm just starting to look into this area. I've had to start
physical therapy for a concussion and the dizziness and other issues
that have been around for a long time probably life aren't part of
this. And the therapist said that it could be part of inner ear,
and to ask my primary doctor. But others say it could be part
of balance disorders, which when I google I find inner ear disorders
too.

I am not in shape to do much research to just keep looking at all
the old data and I'm getting frustrated thats why the quesitons.

Donna,

Have you gone to see an Optometrist or Opthamologist? I don't know what area you are from, however, my Optomertist has a specialty in this type of a field. She works with the executive types to help you get back to being able to perform your daily activities, work, etc.

What she did was put me through a few days of testing (she had to split mine up due to seziures, I get exhausted easily) and does this for a proper diagnosis. Once she does a lot of testing, she is able to tell the severity of the problem and then refer for therapy or treatment if that applies.

I was told that Vision Therapy would be best for me, it doesn't fix the problem - but it is more of 'training' your body to adjust. I have some vestibular problems as well as a severe midline shift to my right. The therapy; from my understanding, would teach me to realize that although something may seem to be 2 feet away to my right, to act as if it is 1 foot away from my right.

I've personally been unable to try this out yet, and since I have been dealing with it for so long I naturally walk with a guard and use my right arm like a blind person would use a cane.

I would like to give it a shot eventually, but I don't have enough time in my schedule to pencil in this doctor since the others take up all of my spare time.

She did give me a lot of paperwork on it and some research material. I will try to scan it all this coming week for you. Also, for the time being you can check out vision therapy and see some information about it. You can also check into Vestibular Problems, too. Balance disturbance can be caused from so many various issues, I would hate to misguide you in the wrong direction.

You might also consider searching under Movement Disorders, such as Parkinsons or Benign Essential Tremor.
