Isn't it ironic?

Am I the only one who sees the irony in the complaint that Braintalk refuses to link up this site? In the past, other homegrown forums were blocked and that was quite alright with a number of people.

But now that the disenchantment has grown, it is suddenly a problem?

The problem with linking sites up is that in the past, the disenchanted have been know to travel from board to board creating problems for members. One gentleman, who lost his son to an untimely death, was stalked and harrassed from a Braintalk regular at his son's MEMORIAL site. How sad and pathetic is that?

I can understand the dissapointment JL and his broken promises have created, but I doubt very much that he has even read the forums in the last several years. Lack of attachment = apathy. One dissapointment after another is a wonderful predictor of what type of behavior can be expected in the future.

That's true, in a lot of ways, Cherokee.

But, the fact of the matter is some people like BrainTalk. Some people like NeuroTalk. Some people like both.

Personally, I'd like to see them merged under the old BrainTalk name, but, under the auspices of Dr. John Grohol.

That's just my personal opinion. I think all of these postings over the past 10 years are an incredible resource. So much of that has "disappeared". I am told that the information is not lost, it will be revived. In the meantime, I keep seeing messages about people looking for information that can't be found any longer -- except maybe on the Wayback Machine.

Things are changing and moving and flowing. I believe we users will, by our support and our response, eventually be creating what we want for support. Things that aren't needed disappear. Have you seen a manual typewriter lately ;)

Oh, I think that banning certain addresses is juvenile. There are ways around that. I also know that people should not be posting personal information on an international website so that stalkers can harass them. It's our responsibility to learn how to be safe on the internet and then to teach our children and our grandchildren the same lessons.

You've made a lot of good points. Thanks for posting.

Welcome to NeuroTalk Cherokee. Interesting first post. I don't know quite what to say honestly, because I know it's not an easily talked about subject and feelings run high for many of us. So I will just keep my thoughts to myself because I am just glad BT1 is back up and running for those of us who still go there for the kind of support that we can also find here on Neurotalk. I love NeuroTalk too because some of the forums are more active then the ones on BT1 mostly I think because many people stayed here and I miss them so I post here happily to be with my friends both old and new. :)

Welcome to the board Cherokee, I hope to see you around the forums! :D
