Hi Walking Light
If you click on your User CP (near the top left of the page)
you will see a menu on the left and you would go to Settings & Options
and click on
Edit Avatar

A box opens up and you can select and add your correctly sized avatar of your choice there

Default update to need avatar
I tried to get my avatar from some free images on the internet but I couldn't do it. I don't have a computer, so maybe that's why. I have a flip cell phone with a browzer on it. What I ended up doing is uploading wallpaper from my cell phone, temporarily. I don't understand about URLs. If I could learn about that, maybe I could use my cell phone to upload the avatar I'd rather have. Any suggestions? Thank you.

If you have photos on your phone you can upload one of your choice as your avatar. If the size is wrong, the system will let you know
