Arrow Latest Community Update

Since we're at our one year mark of being online and now have over 5,000 members (wow! ), just like to give you some updates on what's going on around here.

Today we updated the forum software to the latest and greatest, so please let me know if you experience any issues, wonkiness, something that doesn't work. It's important for online forums to keep popular software like this (vBulletin) updated, because there are tons of exploits and security problems associated with earlier versions. So we try and do it whenever an update fixes security holes.

We're also adding the total number of people in the chat room at any moment in the header of every page so you know when others are in the chat room. I know how hard it can be to hook up with others online, unless you can "see" that someone is there. Hope this helps.

Also, as a reminder, please note our disclaimer: the material on this site is for informational purposes only, and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment provided by a qualified health care provider. Always consult your doctor before trying anything you read here. We don't vet information members present to one another, so take things you read here with a little grain of salt.

Best,
DocJohn

I tried it with each theme while logged in to chat too - and the counter still shows as "0" - must be a glitch.

not sure about the chatrooms cos it is currently showing one occupant but when looking at the rooms in default mode (the only skin that seems to show them plus occupants) at the bottom of the home page, it shows (0) for all

anyways.....
whatever software update that was sure made all the pages load real zippy....thanks Doc!

I hope it's OK if I post a link to the Community Guidelines Update here on this thread. I just thought some people may not have seen it.

Community Guidelines -- Updated 8/14/07

That's a great idea to put the numbers using the chatroom at the top of the page like that. I tend to stick with Chestnut theme, which doesn't show chatroom at all. Not that I use it very often, but I might tend to do that when I have time now that I can see there's someone in there on my screen. Thanks!
