Default Getting logged out!

I keep getting logged out after a certain time on this site. For example I compose a message and by the time I go to send it, a message comes up to say I am unable to post because I am not logged in....and I am logged in because it says "Logged in as Megan". Am I doing something wrong or do we get timed out after about ten minutes? It's very frustrating!!!

megan, what browser are you using?

i'm checking into this. there have been others who have their own settings to log off after a certain amount of time.

is the remember me box checked off by your name when you log in? also, you have to be sure your browser is set to allow "cookies" from neurotalk. that is the only way the site can remember you when you go from page to page.

Right, curious. Some settings do that...especially on IE...for user protection.

I also know that I lose date when I hit back on IE as well. I only use mozilla because of it.

Good advice there!

I get logged out in a short amount of time as well and am not sure at all why. And I don't keep cookies. I clear everything every time I log off my computer.

It is strange to come back to NT maybe 10 minutes after you've signed in and have to log in again.

I think there is a time limit on inactivity. Typing in the message box must be seen as inactivity. lol

p.s. good idea to write the message elsewhere, or at least copy it before hitting "Submit Reply" especially if it's a really long message. My hands have their own minds sometimes and do things my brain is not telling them to do so if I've spent ages writing a long message and suddenly my fingers hit certain keys that I'm not meaning to hit, then POOOOOF.... all gone!

Wink try this....

open a second window when you are typing a big post.... and on the
second window, click around every few minutes. You won't be logged out then.
