How about a forum on dementia. It is a common neurological problem and affects many people. It is also a multifaceted neurological problem. I have cadasil disease, one of the leukodystrophies, but a more descriptive name would be that I have a genetic vascular dementia, instead what I have is called "cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy" or cadasil; and I would enjoy meeting and exchanging information with others that have a vascular dementia. The stroke forums typically deal with major stroke problems and recovery. The mini strokes that I get little attention.

i would add a vote for a separate dementia forum. for example people with advanced RSD/CRPS experience dementia as the chronic pain shrinks and damages their frontal lobe - but most of these folks probably wouldn't think to look for info/support in an Alzheimers community (unless they were a medical researcher like me)

that must be very scary. I had a lot of trouble with my memory after I was living in hydrogen sulfide for a couple years. I used to feel as if there was a black tunnel behind me that swallowed up everything, things I just did disappeared into it.

But I'm a lot better now, and that is a result of having a LOT of vitamin B12 replacement.

The Alzheimer's forum may be good, but in my experience on Alzheimer's forums on other sites, ... it's a bit tricky because people don't believe they can be able to remember anything. So there tends to be a bit of a hopeless aspect to it. I am not saying that about this forum, because I don't believe I've participated in it, because of my experience on other sites.

So, since memory loss is basically nerve damage, you might find some more hopeful information and chat on the Peripheral Neuropathy forum.

I would guess that you have some symptoms of that as well...? Tingling, numbness? Or am I totally wrong, which sure could be the case.

See, what I think is that if your memory is affected by a lack of oxygen in your blood, congenitally, then maybe you also have low B12 congenitally, because when someone's blood is low on oxygen it can be because of the blood cells being too large to divide the way that they are supposed to. I have a bit about this on my B12 Malabsorption page on my web site.
