Well, I can't access it yet, but it looks like we'll be able to soon...6 rooms.

I'm not a chatter, my eyes go wonky and brain goes stupid. Just too fast to follow. But that's great for those of you, who love it.

Congrats!

For any who want to know...

The chat access is at the top of the forums page, underneath "welcome [name]" and just to the left of "logout".

Thanks!

Dr Grohol, you certainly try to please. that is nice, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that things can go south when too many spoons get in the pot.

I'm not sure what you are asking, it could be taken several ways, but I would like to have OUR CHATS, not a carbon copy of other chats??

I would like to have something for Alzheimers Disease/cargivers. I'm not sure there are enough people interested. As large as some forums are, Alzheimers forum was very slow. I never could figure out why.

Is it that people just don't want to talk about it? Like I said, I never did understand why no more people were Interested in this disease and the cargivers that about killed themselves before they realized they had given all they had to give caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's D.

When it was clear my mother-in-law could no longer live alone, we brought her here. Little to no help from siblings. Anyway, long story.

Notice I said CHATS. Thats what my search rendered. I went into the MGH Classic Chat. About 12 people were in there. I was scared, many things were new to me, being a caregiver was on top. This group of members, ((not all were female either)), had a very active Chat room. The things I learned I still draw on today and that has been 7 or 8 yrs.

All of us were new to this, we had at least 1 nurse, but they were as ignorant as the rest of us. Over the yrs, the loved one's have passed on. there are 2 left. A dear lady from Canada and my MIL. When the Classic Chats went down, we got scattered all over and some didn't come back, the Alzheimer's D forum at BT was not active. about 6 of us, but for one reason or another it just wasn't working.

I have requested a Alzheimer's Chat for several years, I was ignored. After the forums went down at BT I finally asked for a chat 1 more time. When it was clear the forums may or may not be fixed, even getting the forums back up. After watching DH add rooms right and left one night I added Alzheimer's to the list. Next day every wish had been granted except the Alzheimer's Chat. One of the Mods responded to me and said she would "remind" DH. Well, its name was up there but I never could get into the room. . I gave it up for DOA and had been looking for a Chat room or a group that were interested in helping their LO, taking care of them, the Nursing Home option etc.

This is long and I don't blame you if you remove it. All I ask is if you have time, please take a read and see if there is help within your system.

I have a vested interest in this disease and would like to learn more, have others to talk things out with etc. I would be forever grateful if you at least look at this long post. thank you , Julia
