It's my understanding that the "default style" blue is the default color for the vBulletin software itself.

So I think that when there are choices available, the "default style" will always be called the default because it is the name the software folks have given to the color scheme.

Personally, I don't care what colors are the forum default, as long as there is a choice avaialble so that people like me who can't stand color can continue to use a style/color scheme that is easy on the eyes.

My dislike of the chestnut has nothing to do with the color itself, it's all about how easy it is on my eyes, and the chestnut shades made my eyes feel wonky (which would lead to a headache if I kept it there).

Anyway, choices are good... so I'm just happy to see choices avaialble

I agree - CHOICES are GOOD !!! And I do understand how you describe the chestnut color scheme was rough on your vision -- there are certain websites that do that to me, too. - Theresa

I like the chestnut, but It is a bit bright for me. My eyes would get very tired viewing it for long. I actually wish it were more chesnut color, which would be a bit darker and easier on the eyes.

I think I'll stick with the default for now, but choices are good.

Thanks,

For me it's the opposite... when I switch to the tan/chestnut color scheme it makes everything more narrow (everything, meaning the list of threads, the posts themselves, etc..)

For me, in the default blue the pages fit my screen perfectly.... but in the chestnut everything narrows and is only at the center of my screen leaving lots of blank areas on the left and right sides (which is another reason why I disliked the chestnut theme).

The other difference I noticed is that the fonts are different with the different color themes. In the default blue the font is 'normal' and easy for me to read.... but in the chestnut theme the fonts are different and harder to read.

This is why choices are good - because everyone has a different opinion of what a 'good' color is and what a 'good' font is.

I have the same problem as Liz - the chestnut theme is narrower on my page/screen and harder on my eyes.
So more scrolling to read all.

Thumbs up brown color

I like the brown color. Thanks for working your magic to make the site a little different.

It is too wide for my screen also. I'm looking forward to possibly other color choices. Is there a limit to the number of choices we can choose at any one time?

The problems with shifting size - too wide or too squished together - is based on what "brand" of browser you use - Microsoft, AOL, Opera, Firefox, Netscape or others (like the ones on Mac). Not much you can do.

As with font differences and sizes, on IE, you can go to tools- internet options - accessibility and click ignore all fonts, then go to fonts and change it to what you want. Then if you want your fonts larger, go to View and click text size and click larger or largest.

I have done this because the text is too small on the internet and this site. So no matter what color background you use, your font/text is the same as you have chosen.
