Yeah, changing the resolution didn't help me either. I used all three of my browers...mozilla firefox, IE and Opera...same with each.

WOW if you go to the vb 3.6 styles section you can see all that they are creating there.

one called tulips is pretty - but a bit too much pinky for me
http://www.vbimpressions.com/forums/index.php?styleid=9

and if you scroll to the bottom of the tulip page - more styles/themes to sample...

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=121373
it's pretty

Oh, wow!!! I'm getting VERY excited about these! I did read in the first link where others were having trouble with the chestnut being too wide as well.

Thanks!

I'd personally love several options mainly because my vision varies per day depending on seizure activity. I frequently favor a darker background with lighter text colors, and sometimes it's the opposite. But if it is dark background with dark text, or light on light - it's really a task for me to be able to read. Having options like this makes it so easy for me to change it depending on my brains mood.

The designer said this:

Quote:

I absolutely love this skin. Is there anyway to make it so narrower instead of wider? Thank's so much.

Yes, use stylevar in option to style.

Red face Hmmm...puzzling....

Well, thanks Lara for that link. It is very interesting.

My screen at highest resolution (which my monitor recommends) is like that
screenshot you mention. (the upper left).

I like the narrower format...because reading long lines, in long posts, sort
of mixes up my trifocals. Shorter lengths (lines) are easier for me to read.

I think this must be a monitor issue. Monitors can be very different, in
color representation, and expression. My husband reminded me that our monitor
came with a ton of "instructions" which we have not even explored yet!
My son just set it to the highest resolution, because he knows what a color
fussbudget I can be.

When I called my son yesterday, he viewed it in Safari, and Firefox...as he
has a Mac. Both showed like mine and Lara's. We have Firefox here, the newest download. This skin as I mentioned before is very similar to the
new Yahoo Beta email. Only that fills the whole screen, and is not narrow
down the middle--but the colors are very similar. Both my son and we here, have flat screens. I couldn't get much help from him, otherwise. When I did change my resolution, I did get a full screen version with a scroll bar. It also enlarged the font size.

When I come back and view as a guest (I log out each time), I get the blue
default, and have to change it back. Now that I use this Chestnut more,
the old default is quite a "shock"

Oh, well, the techno crunch gets worse each year for us old timers.
We are struggling with a new backup hard-drive..tricky. And...
We are going to get a new laptop, with wireless card, etc. for Xmas. That is a huge
jump for us...to update the old Win 98 on our old old Vaio...upstairs. And my
cell contract is over, so we are looking to a new carrier... sheesssh.
I am getting too old for all this I guess! And this Dell is almost 2 yrs old now..a real clunker!

OK. I changed my resolution and changed to the chestnut and I LOVE IT.

It's different and I'll have to get used to it (the font is smaller), but I get so much more on a page for less scrolling and it looks so neat and clean. Right now, though, the change is making me a bit light-headed...LOL.

Overall, I really like it and think I'll keep it this way. Even if we get new skins, I like this neat, clean, centered look that came from changing the resolution.

thanks!

KD

Talking Well...

Kimmy... glad to see you did get some changes going!

The longer you use the Chestnut... I think you will find the older version--
the default... harder to use. But that is only my opinion..And I don't think you are as OLD as dirt, like I am. LOL At least your piccy suggests otherwise!
