Default Forum Help

I am new here and have been trying to set up my profile. Can anyone tell me why I get this message below when I try to acess my profile? I am assuming my account is awaiting activation. Does anyone know how long this takes? I just want to create my own profile and join in on the forum and talk with you.

Karen3690, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Thanks for the help

Hello Karen
sorry for the message taking you by surprise.

our software is set up to recognize an active member from those who join to spam etc after a certain number of posts. So when you are still new and not yet at that post number you will not yet be able to post links, nor to edit in your profile. Sadly some spammers register on forums and use the signature and profile areas to do the spamming. they dont usually stick around after 10 posts

Members hopefully do

so....
welcome to NeuroTalk and we look forward to getting to know you

ps here is a get to know NT to help you navigate the community

Actually, it's just 5 approved posts, and you can edit and post as much as you'd like. If we didn't have such a problem with spammers trying to get into the forums, we wouldn't even need this restriction... But with it, we can filter out virtually all spam before anyone ever sees it! Sorry for the inconvenience...
