Default DocJohn...About the Chestnut?

Hi Doc.

I'm wondering if the Chestnut colour can be made the new default for our new NeuroTalk? Still keep the other as an option, but the Chestnut is great and better yet "New", and that's us..

Thanks for your consideration and a big thanks for "NeuroTalk". <applause>

Hi SallyC. I've been wondering if I knew you from another life? Anyway it is good to have you here.

Sally, I have cateracts and the chestnut is not helping me, but I would be happy just to have the blue to fall back on and I can keep the blue and you the chestnut. I like the chestnut, but can't read much with it.

I love your avatar. I also love our new name, NeuroTalk. Most of all I love having this forum. DocJohn is very kind and gracious to all of us. I'm glad we found him too! I'm easy, so whatever is decided I will work around it, ok?

my love, Jo

I suppose so long as we can set the option individually, it doesn't matter a whole lot what the default is set to. While the idea of a distinguishing color change is a good idea, I have some visual problems that make the chestnut more difficult for me to read.

But, because we can set it ourselves... it doesn't really make too much difference to me, either.

Are there any other choices available?

Cara

Ultimately, I'd like to see some other choices available too. I like that the color is distiguishable, but the chestnut is also hard for me to read.

I'm sorry , I thought I was the odd woman out, and had problems reading the chestnut at first. I didn't realize that others had the same problem.

I went to my PC and darkened my view, just a little and my problem was solved. Now I love it. Of course with cataracs, dimming your view wouldn't help.

Having the choice is fine with me too, I just thought, that since most people seemed to like it, that the chestnut could be our new default. But I wouldn't want to chase any newbys off with a new color.

Jo, I think I knew all of you, in another life.

I like the chestnut, but when I switch to it the page goes off my screen and I have to use a horizontal scroll to view the rest of the page.

Is anyone else's chestnut doing that, or do I need to do some adjusting here on my puter?

Thanks!

KD

KD ~

The same thing happens on my computer ~ the chesnut color widens my screen for some reason and I have to scroll across to read it.

I really like the chesnut color ~ but it's a pain to have to scroll to read!

The chestnut, on my computer, looks gray and washed out and is hard for me to read....What's up with that?! I'm a computer "idiot" for the most part so I'll probably leave mine on the default color.

On my PC the chestnut makes everything get narrow.

There was a similar conversation on on of the forums here (can't remember where now) and someone pointed out that the type of browser you use (IE, firefox, the Mac browser, etc...) is what causes the Chestnut to widen for some people and narrow for other people.

I think there was also mention of changing something in your browser options or in your PC options to make the narrow/wide problem better.... But I of course forget the details
