hmmm,
looks like no vista driver @ HP

here's a thread on HP with info -
[1) Go to device manager and remove photosmart 1215
2) Go to printers and manually install, click add printer using the exisiting port USB001(virtual port for USB)
3) Hit next, choose HP Photosmart 7200 click next, print test page Bingo !!!
Make sure printer is pluged in and tured on
Worked for me Nic good luck]

If you go to the printer section on the control panel and click Add Printer can you find it on the list or something very much similar?
Similar to what is suggested above, but I use the control panel {I have XP, but they are alike in some ways}

I found this...
[If you have the HP Photosmart 1215 there is not a built in driver, but the
included Deskjet 990 driver should give full printing functionality.]

I've been picking up used printers/all in ones at the local Goodwill store and haven't got a bad one yet. some need cleaning with alcohol to remove dried on ink inside and fresh ink.
but for 12 bucks or so and I can return if it doesn't work.
I have Panasonic and Epson brands and a few times had to totally remove/uninstall the driver, reboot, and then reinstall the driver to get then to work again.
