Question Windows Vista and virus

Question...I have been having problems with lack of protection on my pc. For the second time this year I have viruses. The last time this happened they couldn't get the viruses off and had to eventually reload my Windows program. Why can't I do this for myself. I do get free service where I take it but its quite a drive and they have at least a two day wait before they can even get to it...could be a week without it....so if it comes down to them just having to reload windows...why can't I do that?

Do you have a full security suite on it?
many of the top names are having specials right now.

the one I have sent me an email the other day -it looks like it is still effective-

do you use a browser add on that helps you avoid unsafe websites?

like WOT {web of trust} color codes sites and will block the real bad ones..

you probably can clean it your self - just takes some learning and the "want to" factor
If you can't clean it then hopefully nothing real important is on it and just do a wipe & fresh install of windows..
or get a flash drive or an external drive to save important things before a problem appears..

I figured out how to fix mine many times after crashes , but I decided I'd rather buy a good full security suite and use add ons for the browser {and not IE - I use Firefox mostly or Opera}
