Smile WIFI anenna

I have a Question.

In another thread I mentioned that I don’t have wifi. It turns out there is a coffee shop, close to my Apt that provides wifi access to everyone who wants to use it and it’s FREE.

It’s out of range and a friend said I might be able to get a wifi antenna to bring in the signals.

He does not have any information for me .

Does anyone have information on buying or building an Antenna? I don’t need a strong antenna because the free wifi is just out of range.

I would be grateful for any information.

Hi Bob,

I don't have the info about the antenna, but try to make sure it will be ok with the coffee shop for you to use the free wifi from your apartment on a regular basis.

Also, the free access points aren't always the most secure, so make sure your anti-virus program is up to date and be careful of what information you use over that connection.

Smile WIFI antenna

Thanks ewizabeth

I talked to the good folks at the coffee shop and they confirmed the wifi is available to anyone who wants to use it. When I’m home at my desk I’ll stay tied to my modem.

Sometimes I go out on the patio and then I will use the wifi. Needless to say lately I stay home out of the cold weather.

Thanks for the links

BOB and yes it cold in New Orleans
