make sure your speaker plug is plugged into the GREEN hole in the back of your computer. The color should closely match the color of the tip end of your speaker wire. MOST color code. If yours is black, dont worry, just look for the green square with the little speaker symbol on it. ONce plugged into that one, it should no longer sound like a tunnel.

If you look at your screen. ON the bottom right, you should see a tiny symbol at the very bottom right that looks like a speaker with ))) marks coming out of it. RIGHT click on that, and adjust the volume.
